Rick Joaquim is an award-winning cinematographer working between South Africa and the UK. With a passion for storytelling, collaboration and a drive to capture the essence of every project, Rick excels in a diverse range of narrative, commercial, and music video projects.
His accomplishments include being featured in the prestigious ARRI Camera Showreel in 2019, and having his work showcased at major festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, and Aesthetica. Rick won “Best Cinematography” at The British Short Film Awards 2022 and “Best Achievement in Cinematography in a Documentary” at the South African Film & Television Awards in 2022. Additionally, he was recognized by British Cinematographer Magazine as their ‘Meet The New Wave’ rising star DOP, highlighting his growing prominence in the industry.
