Born in France and raised in South Africa, Paul has been greatly influenced by French Cinema, but also has a deep understanding of South African culture, allowing him to tap into an emotional way of telling stories. Paul is passionate about storytelling and turning emotions into images. For him, story is king, and believes that every aspect of what he does must serve it. He lives for collaboration. With over 10 years of experience, Paul has diligently worked his way up in the camera department and has subsequently had the opportunity to learn from the best. His extensive set experience also translates into being highly skilled at managing his crew, and he thrives on being a team player and a true collaborator. Paul was nominated for ‘Best DOP’ at the Silwerskerm Film Festival in Cape Town for his debut feature film, FINDING OPTEL (2025), which has its international premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October 2025.
