Meet Hanru. 12 years ago in 1994, he decided that he was going to be a cinematographer. His dad’s old film stills camera inspired this dream. His dad taught him all about the basics of light and composition…and as he got older, he grew more motivated to tell stories through pictures.

After studying at AFDA, he spent 2 years in a dark room-editing suite, but his love for the outdoors drew him outside, so he made the change to loading, then moving through the ranks to 2nd Camera Assistant to Camera Operator and then Steadicam. After 8 years as a Steadicam operator, he expanded his skill set and equipment by upgrading to the Arri Trinity. The Arri Trinity allowed Hanru to express his love for composing a shot.  In this role, Hanru felt more at home… it fuelled his love for the outdoors and fulfilled his passion for story telling. The perfect match.

He’s definitely the guy you want on your team, but don’t take our word for it… just look at his track record.
